When sitting on the beach last week I had the chance to catch up with some reading, and nothing was more entertaining than a novel by a writer I’ve admired for a little while. Richard Milward is a young author with a future as bright as they come, and I got lost in his second novel Ten Storey Love Story about life in a council estate in Middlesbrough. As well as being incredibly witty the book is fantastically perceived and observed – reeking of stale booze, banned substances and honesty. Here is a little video of Richard himself reading an extract. Tremendous.
