The High Line
The High Line is a 1.5 -mile section of the former elevated freight railroad of the West Side Line, in Chelsea, NYC. It was, up until very recently, overgrown with grass and weeds that sprang up through the tracks. It was captured beautifully in this set of images by Joel Sternfeld from a book entitled ‘Walking The High Line’ – published in 2002. The High Line re-opened in June this year as a public park, so check it out if you’re in the area.
