I was made aware of RCA graduate Maisie Broadhead’s work this weekend, thanks to a Sunday Times feature on her over the weekend. Her work sets out to re-interpret classic paintings that use jewellery as an intrinsic part of their meaning. The pieces are key props to the updated images, although the images themselves are easily strong enough to stand alone – a refreshingly original and inquisitive series.
