Hello all, I though I’d kick off festive style and with one of my 2009 highlights.

“Snow crystals are letters sent from heaven…” poetic words from Nakaya Ukichiro, a scientist who created artificial snow for the first time. Possibly the one world that never ceases to amaze is the outside world and the scheme that underpins it and i’m in awe of the people that poke about and make some more sense of it. Anything that includes the phrases, “this was thought impossible”, “Nakaya built a cloud chamber..?!”, “after three years he had a breakthrough” and lastly, “on a tip of a fine rabbit hair, he grew the first artificial snowflake” is firmly in my column of yes please.
