Sylvia Sleigh made hats in Brighton, moved to New York, painted male nudes (often friends) in positions conventionally associated with the female form, and documented, in great and absorbing detail, the feminist art movement she was so intricately involved in. It saddened us to hear that she died on Sunday, although there’s consolation in the assertion that her work will live on and on. (See images)
