Edouard Salier: Splitting the Atom

Usually the content of my Monday morning music video is chirpy and care-free, so it’s a little unusual for me to be describing my choice today as dark, powerful and menacing. Edouard Salier’s promo for Massive Attack’s Splitting the Atom is described beautifully by the director himself, “The fixed moment of the catastrophe. The instant the atom bursts on the beast, the world freezes into a vitrified chaos. And we go through the slick and glistening disaster of a humanity in distress. Man or beast? The responsibility of this chaos is still to be determined.” And you thought halloween was over.
