John Lehr

Date
10 December 2010

John Lehr’s photographs centre around things we don’t see: stairs leading nowhere, masking tape floating in trees, ‘nuggets’. Limited research (the sort done rushed, without real ‘objectives’) reveals Lehr to be important – he’s shown at Moma, Walker Art Centre, etc. – despite having only graduated from Yale (where he now teaches) relatively recently.

Images are taken from ‘Mirage’, a series that happily reveals commonplace majesty.
