Window Boxes

Date
25 June 2009

There’s nothing more pleasurable than a window box, especially living in London where garden space comes at a premium. I have two, both wooden and painted in white gloss – a smaller one for flowers that sits flush to my kitchen window and a longer one below for a selection of herbs. I’ve just planted some Heliotropes (a hardy shrub with small, purple, fragrant flowers) and am planning a row of Geraniums in coming months; I have a strong disliking for Ivy. Columbia Road Flower Market has a great selection of reasonably priced plants and the Geffrye Museum’s Herb Garden is a fantastic source of inspiration.
