A Friend of Mine's bright and bouncy identity for Aussie art fair

It’s been a couple of years since we last featured Melbourne-based studio A Friend of Mine so the launch of their brand new website was the perfect chance to celebrate their talents again. Suzy Tuxen and her team were commissioned by new art and design fair Supergraph to create a “strong, industrial and friendly” identity and needed a graphic solution that stood on its own two feet without overshadowing the creative work featured at the event.

AFOM (as all the cool kids are calling it) said: “We developed custom typography for the logotype and a signage and flexible design system based on patterned perforated metals which represented the diversity of the fair and is re-usable for subsequent years. The yellow made for a fun and strongly colour coded event which carried through to the responsive website design, various print material and exhibition design including a 12 metre long yellow metal sign which we enjoyed watching people interact with.”

Once you’ve checked out the work it’s worth spending some time on the studio’s new website (built by Liquorice) which is a fine showcase of this studio’s considerable talents.
