The launch of the fantastic online photography journal, Accent Magazine
We’ve featured the work of photographer Lydia Garnett before, marvelling at her ability to take breathtakingly honest, gritty but unpretentious shots of people she finds inspiring, often due to their unique style. Since then, Lydia’s been busy with setting up Accent with Lucy Nurnberg, an illustrator and designer. Accent Magazine is an online, photography based journal which champions personality and truth through poignant series of images that tell some rather incredible stories.
From portraits of homeless people in an East London park, to sun-smothered pictures taken at the legendary Burning Man Festival in Nevada, Accent Magazine is a frank documentation of curiously intriguing aspects of the world, told in a friendly and unassuming tone. It’s early days for Lucy and Lydia yet, but this magazine is off to a great start — we can’t wait for them to reveal more fascinating stories in the near future.
Accent magazine launches tonight at Bethnal Green’s Mowlem Studios.
