Graphic Design: Accept & Proceed create an amazing new identity for Eastern Electrics

Date
13 May 2014

Held in any number of unusual venues and with a line-up of acts who break boundaries all over the shop, Eastern Electrics is a festival unlike any other, so when Accept & Proceed undertook rebranding it it made perfect sense that they create something appropriately cool. They created a new mark which they describe as a “lightning bolt E” and a “bespoke electrifying variation of Simplon Mono font,” drawing on classic heavy metal motifs and a gloriously sunny palette.

They even got illustrator Matt Johnstone on board to create a brilliantly weird Where’s Wally-esque festival scene with stories and characters from previous events, plus acts from the 2014 line-up carefully concealed in the crowds. Printed in segments on the back of the four flyers, the festival stationery lines up in a perfect poster format to create the full image Matt put together, in a fun, dynamic and very cool combination. And fun dynamism is what festivals are about, don’t you know.
