The third issue of surfing mag Acid has landed, and it looks rad
“It’s my magazine and I’ll photograph it in a hydrangea bush if I want to” I imagine editors Bertrand Trichet and Olivier Talbot singing as they snapped away. And why not? The brand new third issue of surfing magazine Acid is fluorescent pink, so it looks perfectly at home against some nice botany.
The new issue includes “the story of a Slovenian surfer; a critical take on Hawaii in the winter; things you didn’t know about buoys; Will Adler’s touching photography; a surf music collection by a non-surfer; Durban’s weird and wonderful details photographed by Roger Jardine; line-up slang defined; poetic-fun surf photography,” proving their mission statement, to create a publication which is about more than just surfing, to be very true. As ever it’s beautifully put together, dotted with cheeky emojis and digital motifs and falling happily into that dreamy halfway point between a handmade zine and a chunky glossy bi-annual. What’s more, if the hydrangea bush doesn’t suffice, you can watch a nice pair of hands flicking through the magazine while listening to the idyllic sounds of a surfer catching some sweet waves in the background. Ideal.
