Graphic Design: Bibliothèque's AGI Index shows off the best of UK design

Date
2 January 2014

Every year, just before the AGI Open, the AGI’s members come together in the year’s host city to present to each other their national design history – the major players and events that have shaped the design landscape over the past half century. This year it was the UK’s turn, and behind the closed doors of the Barbican a cohort of prestigious british designers presented themselves to the AGI’s global community.

We’ll never know what revelations took place on that September day in 2013, but we can have a look at the kind of talent that was on show with the help of Bibliothèque’s AGI index, a comprehensive list of the UK’s 53 AGI members alongside examples of their work. The book takes the form of a modified A to Z index, with the 26 lettered tabs you’d normally expect to find reduced to just three: A, G and I. Needless to say the design is excellent (Bibliothèque are AGI members after all) and the book provides a welcome guide for those who don’t yet know their Hardies from their Hylands.
