Photography: Alastair Philip Wiper exposes hidden aspects of science and industry

Date
8 July 2013

Industrial photography doesn’t always get its moment in the limelight, but in the case of Copenhagen-based photographer Alastair Philip Wiper we felt that this was wholly unjust. His images capture the weird and wonderful elements of science, technology and architecture which are often overlooked in favour of a prettier finished façade, but Alastair makes a strong case for the beauty of the infrastructure lurking behind. As house photographer to designer and artist Henrik Vibskov, Alastair travels around building and photographing a whole variety of strange things, creating something of an anthropological study by exposing the inner depths of buildings, factories and industrial estates. A fascinating reminder never to judge a book by its cover.
