Alexander Kent makes the strange-sounding unbelievably cool-looking

When it comes to the art-world sometimes you just have to rely upon the fact that most things end up looking a whole lot better than they actually sound. The same philosophy applies to banana smothered in peanut butter but it’s very evident in the wonderfully bizarre work of photographer Alexander Kent.

With his portfolio swinging from sinking ladders and bugs surrounded with butterflies one minute to brogues suspended with bright yellow wool the next, you can’t help but admire the man’s creativity and obvious out-the-box take on the world.

But while we could happily scout through Alexander’s portfolio all day long, it is his series of light pictures that we’ve really fallen for. Photographing lampshades with painted rays of light shining from them, these prove once and for all that we’re dealing with a real talent.
