Animation: The makers of Don't Hug Me I'm Scared creators are planning more episodes!

It’s nice to be alive in a time where something so close to home has become such a cult. Becky Sloan and Joe Pelling and co. have just launched their new Kickstarter to fund some more episodes of everyone’s favourite animated series, Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared. The first two episodes saw Sesame Street-like characters try to decipher slightly heavy issues such as creativity and time in a weird, usually pretty manic way that left the lovers of the unusual all over there world dribbling and moaning for more. The two videos combined have had over 20 million views (!!!) and now the duo behind them are keen to make more. The only problem is they haven’t got any money. Luckily for them, and us, Kickstarter exists!

“Making Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared is something we both enjoy a lot and for a while now we have talked about trying to develop it into a full musical series, covering all six of life’s most important lessons,” co-creator Joe Pelling told us. "Plus, given the overwhelming response its had on the ‘YOUTUBE’ and the bizarre but brilliant fanbase it has accumulated, making it for any other platform would feel a bit wrong.

“With Kickstarter we can continue the DHMIS journey, straight to YouTube and answer the eternal lingering questions we all wrestle with on a daily basis: ‘Why are we here?’ ‘Does life have a purpose?’ and ‘Why I am trapped inside this giant egg?’ It’s totally spurred us on to make this show into a full series and we think doing it independently through Kickstarter, funded by the fans, is the way to go.”

Got a spare few pennies? This could be the best thing you could do with them next to buying food and water. Especially if you’re curious to find the answers to some of life’s questions Becky and Joe have dangled in front of us on the Kickstarter page such as:

“Where do dogs live?
Why are we here, and what is the purpose of Life?
Why do I constantly hear the sound of crabs screaming in my head?
Why is this pillowcase full of ham?
DON’T WORRY!!! All questions will be answered in time.”
