Beautiful new figurative collages from Anthony Gerace

Date
7 March 2013

It’s been a while since we last featured the work of Anthony Gerace and in the intervening months his insatiable appetite for collage has spurred him on to produce a vast quantity of paper pieces harvested from a meticulously-curated selection of vintage magazines and assorted pulp classics. He’s moved on from his tonal abstractions though, incorporating figurative elements and geometric constructions into his carefully-layered works, experimenting with the way colour informs and interacts with the subject and background. The results are subtle but show a mastery of a medium that many utilise but few with as much skill as Anthony.
