You probably think you’ve seen it all before, two wheels, two pedals, some handlebars, but you’re very much mistaken. This magnificent velocipede is a cargo bike with a body crafted exclusively from sustainable bamboo. The brainchild of industrial designer Michael Downes and master shipwright Jeff Sayler, it was created for the Oregon Manifest, a competition designed to get Portland residents out of their cars and onto two wheels. And with the process lovingly documented on their blog, it demonstrates beautifully what can be achieved when ideas and skills are shared between disciplines. Lovely.
