Ultra-polished satire from Swiss-American design studio Avalanche

Date
8 March 2013

Swiss-American design studio Avalanche know what they’re doing when it comes to crafting slick design solutions, art directing for high-end fashion brands and putting together polished editorial projects. With an aesthetic that’s almost dripping with luxury it’s perhaps unsurprising that the majority of their clientele is made up by the fashion and cultural sectors. In spite of this predilection for polished commercial projects we’re pretty taken with their self-directed editorial project Yard, Risk and Business, a satirical look at the decadent lifestyles of bankers in the midst of a global financial crisis. It’s slightly at odds with the rest of their output, lambasting areas of society that they’re normally involved in promoting, but it’s incredibly successful due to Avalanche’s understanding of a distinctly high-end vernacular.
