Visually this film looks good and appears to have similar undertones to Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut. But it’s the soundtrack, produced by experimental composer Ben Frost that I’m excited about. The sound Ben creates within his albums is widescreen and apocalyptic, with classical ambient sections effortlessly morphing into tense noise and distortion. I discovered Ben’s music a few years ago with Theory Of Machines – a sublime minimal piece that builds from ambient guitar to noise and back again. He later released album By The Throat in 2009, a highly recommended listen.
