Beni Bischof

Date
1 February 2012

In Beni Bischof’s world, very little makes sense. Fingers disrupt the gloss of fashion ads, castle windows appear bricked up, a church is turned on its side, suddenly transformed into a jet. Bischof’s work is filled with playful subversion – an affecting, multi-material mix of high- and low-brow references that combine hilariously. If we can’t laugh at the world, the Swiss artist is reminding us, then what can we do?
