Braulio Amado’s capacity to multitask amazes us once again in this ongoing poster series

Date
17 September 2015

Braulio Amado is at it again proving that he is as skilled as he is prolific. On top of his position art directing Bloomberg Business Week , his Graphic Interviews series and the load of hand-lettering he does for The New York Times Magazine, Braulio also seems to have been doing a poster a day, and great ones at that.

Declaring on his blog that he’d promised he would “try to do as much ‘creative’ shit [as possible] until Labor Day,” Braulio has so far been covering the poster design heyday of the 1980s, with everything from garish airbrushing to dripping Cooper Black typography and pencil drawings reminiscent of that A-Ha video. All promoting shows on both sides of the Atlantic, the posters come with notes such as “killed – too cute” under a shocked red devil and “yaaaaaaaaaaaaaas” under a man leaning horizontal with a glass of wine. A triumph.
