Design a new label for Bunnahabhain whisky in the name of a great cause

Date

We’ve got an interesting new design competition for you, bringing together a Scottish whisky brand and a really worthy cause. The Bunnahabhain distillery has partnered with The Fishermen’s Mission to challenge designers to come up with a new label for the bottle, putting a contemporary slant on the brand’s longstanding identity based around a travelling helmsman returning to the safety of the distillery.

As well as the winning designer receiving £2,000, the label will appear on 500 limited edition Tales of the Sea bottles, part of the proceeds from which will go to The Fishermen’s Mission. The charity helps the families of fishermen lost or injured at sea.

Michelle Lansdowne, senior brand manager at Burn Stewart, said: “Bunnahabhain’s Helmsman and his maritime stories have inspired the brand for generations. Tales of the Sea is an opportunity for us to add a contemporary twist to our current label, in addition to fostering fresh design talent and highlighting the important and groundbreaking work of The Fishermen’s Mission.”

The task is to embody Bunnahabhain’s nautical theme of the helmsman returning home to recount his tales by the fireside and is open to all designers in the UK (it will roll out to other territories later in the year).

All entrants must be 18 years or older and must register by sending an email with their name, contact telephone number and DOB to talesofthesea@stripecommunications.com

The deadline to register is May 24.
