Disrupting the art of others, re-contextualising their meaning and “taking contemporary ideas into the past” are all crucial motives behind Chad Wys’ work. These interventions range from the Composite Sculptures and deliberate Works on Paper, to the brilliantly-aesthetic digital Nocturne (pictured), all of which have an immediate effect on our appreciation of the original, thanks to Wys’ own process of elimination.
