Advertising: D&AD release the Black Pencil judges' discussion film

Last year D&AD broke new ground by releasing this behind-the-scenes video of the judges’ discussion around which work should be awarded the coveted Black Pencils. This year they’ve done it again and it remains an interesting insight into one of the industry’s most respected prizes.

The choice of music they’ve used is a little odd I’ll admit but once you get past that it’s great to hear from those who actually made the decisions about what they look for and to get a sense of the various factors that come into play (we learn for example that this year the head vs heart debate was significant, while the BBH/Guardian Three Little Pigs spot fell down on impact).

Overall well worth a few minutes of your time and you can see the wining work below.
