Come and have a gander at Denis Carrier's cracking editorial work

Date
2 October 2012

I know what you’re thinking, you’re thinking “I’ve seen this name before.” And you’re right. We featured Denis Carrier on the site back in March, but it turns out one post simply isn’t enough to demonstrate the talents of this Gallic illustrator. Back then we showed you some of his delightful personal sketches, but this time we’re hitting you with the full force of the editorial work that he’s steadily producing for the likes of The New York Times, Viewpoint Magazine and SNCF (that’s France’s largest rail network).

It’s the simplicity that we love most about Denis’ work, the way he succinctly captures the essence of a written piece in just a few limited lines and shapes – with just a flourish of bright colour to skilfully lure you in. We’re not saying all illustration should be this way, although things would be a lot more clear and concise if it was.
