Don Hertzfeld: Rejected

Date
13 January 2012

I saw a clip from Don Hertzfeld’s Rejected film yesterday and within hours I was quoting it to strangers. Though totally unaware of its cult status, all I knew was that I would have to say “I am a banana” every time I see one (probably for the rest of my life). It’s a series of progressively disturbing “commissioned” animated segments for the Family Learning Channel, all apparently rejected, but its surreal genius earned it an Academy Award nomination and a legion of followers. Hertzfeld himself is about to embark on a rare tour with his newest film, EVERYTHING WILL BE OK which will be unmissable for anyone in the vicinity.
