Emory Kristof

Date

Explorer, deep-sea photographer, and generally smiley, beardy man Emory Kristof is the go-to man for anything Titanic or deep-sea related. He and oceanographer Robert Ballard worked together, 12,000 ft under the sea, to make sure the first images presented to the world in 1985 were beautifully lit from all sides, and as magnificent as possible. I can’t say any more, it’s too epic; just try and harness even a modicum of the feelings they must have had when they approached and lit up the front deck of the sunken ship, and you’ll see what I mean.
