New York fashion label Engineered Garments neatly plucked their name from a conversation with their first pattern cutter, who described the brand’s debut collection as being “engineered” rather than simply “designed”. Pieces – whether a pair of shorts or a patterned shirt – are noticeably built around detail and precision, so it’s strange and intriguing to see their latest collection set against a backdrop of digital mishaps. Glitch-heavy internet art is fairly prevalent nowadays, but within a fashion context it’s relatively new, and for that reason this kind of works!
