Yale student Eric Hu is hanging out in the upper echelon of curious graphic design that pushes content right up there with form. His attempt to create the “unluckiest posters in the world” by employing many east Asian taboo symbols (Spirits, pictured) seem less about bad fortune and more about good design skill, and his earlier predominantly print works display the same confidence and deft aesthetics with some harder-to-explain subject matter. We saw his portfolio a while ago and the body of work he’s created since marks him as one to watch, most definitely.
