Amazing! Geoff Mcfetridge's new fence mural around the Walker Art Centre

I love it when people get creative with scaffolding, and this is without doubt the finest example of that. The wonderful Walker Art Centre is having a bit of brick work done and they’ve commissioned designer Geoff McFetridge to decorate the site fence as he sees fit. Naturally, what Geoff sees as fit is nothing short of brilliant, and this new fence has just been unveiled.

When given the specs for the project — basically just a very, very long and thin canvas — Geoff was reminded of film reels, and so has illustrated a zoetrope-like stretch of drawings that (if you ran alongside it really fast) would form a beautiful animation. All drawn in his trademark style, with new characters and more face-clawingly simple, beautiful ideas, this is probably the best and most valuable scaffolding in the history of the world.
