Graphic Design: Graphic Thought Facility art direct brilliant new design magazine

Date
1 May 2014

You know that advert where everything that guy touches turns to Skittles? Well Graphic Thought Facility are like that, only that everything they touch turns to design gold rather than delicious fruity confectionery. They have just art directed the inaugural issue of Modern Design Review which is billed as “a considered and curated insight into modern product and furniture design.”

For the striking cover GTF arranged work from Martino Gamper, Yrjö Kukappuro and Muller Van Severen in a carved foam flower arranging block in a reference to the Japanese art of ikebana, all of which features inside as content.

Add in some super engaging layouts, photography from the likes of Osma Harvilahti, Angela Moore and Scheltens & Abbenes and bespoke headline typefaces and you’re looking at the kind of publication that purrs.
