Most days of the week we sit squarely on the fence when the digital/analogue debate raises its ugly head. But on days like today when confronted with the woodblocks of a stalwart of traditional printing like Hans Ticha (he’s clearly not comfortable with a digital camera either – there’s definitely some camera flash visible in these images) it’s easy to get swept away with the romantic notion of smashing our beautiful MacBooks to pieces and setting up a print studio fashioned entirely from wood. And who can blame us, with work like this coming direct from the artist’s own hand you wonder how computers ever got a foot in the door of the creative industry.
