Revelling in the great new work of Quentin Jones for our next Here 2012 profile
When you’re the go-to creative for a whole host of fashion brands and publications who are happy to give you the freedom to do what you do best, it’s safe to assume you’re at the top of your game. We’re not really sure how illustrator and filmmaker Quentin Jones finds any time to sleep given the amount of great work she’s been producing lately but our brain space is taken up with all the gawping.
Whether it’s brilliant stop-motion work for Kenzo, Tibi and Victoria Beckham, her more experimental stuff for Nowness, her collaboration with Jason Pietra for Twin Magazine or her Wallpaper* cover Quentin’s work has a passion, an intensity and a surrealist tinge that never tips over into self-indulgence and her own-brand cool is a much sought after commodity.
At Here she will talk about her unusual route to the top, having studied philosophy at Cambridge she did an MA in illustration at Central St Martins and how the combination of academic and creative feed and develop each other But she will also explain why it was impatience above all that led to the evolution of her signature style.
