High Line at the Rail Yards

Date
14 March 2012

Anyone who’s ever had the pleasure of strolling down the High Line – New York’s remarkable urban park built on the city’s disused raised railway tracks – will be excited to see these newly-unveiled plans for its extension. Snaking round the Rail Yards district, these initial designs show how the wildly-popular project could evolve, mixing the best of the existing features (like the peel-up furniture) with new touches like an in-built kids’ playground. The estimated cost of the third phase is $90 million dollars with a major fundraising campaign underway, with a projected public opening set for spring 2014. We can’t wait.
