It’s no secret that projection mapping is the single-most awesome thing that can be done with light (that’s right lasers, everyone’s over you) but so often it’s used as part of a bland nocturnal sales pitch for expensive pants that it’s easy to forget how great it looks when executed with real flair. Immersive Surfaces is a multi-part video projection covering 30,000 sq. feet of the Manhattan Bridge Anchorage and archway that’s easily one of the finest examples of this technique we’ve seen. Featuring the work of over 20 artists it manages to delight our eyes in a whole host of cutting-edge ways. How do they do it? I have no idea. Found via designboom.
