Photography: James Chororos enchants with his photographs of Peru

Date
26 November 2013

James Chororos studied architecture, painting, graphic design, art history and engineering before stumbling across photography and finding that this was in fact the medium he felt most comfortable with – and boy, are we glad he did. It’s not every day you come across a photographer with as keen an eye for landscapes as for tiny, missable details.

The series Peru, which was born of a trip to South America, combines vast mountainous ranges with quirky portraits and tiny flashes of red to create a collection of images which is aesthetically coherent and awe-inspiring. I especially love the portrait of the old local woman in her wide-brimmed hat and red cardi – what a snazzy ensemble.
