These painstakingly composed embroideries come courtesy of Jazmin Berakha, a Buenos Aires-based artist who just so happens to be exhibiting at Heskin Contemporary in New York next week (that was a hint, go look if you’re in the vicinity). It’s very engaging to see such a time consuming craft like needlepoint being used to an ends that drawing or painting might be. It adds a sort of intense delicacy to the images and as the artists reminds us, “there is no place to hurry”.
