Photography: Succumb to Jessica Tremp's sweeping landscape photography
We have something of a running joke in the studio about the fact that no matter how rigorous our editorial process is, when it’s done well we really struggle to say “no” to landscape photography. As far as our admiration of sweeping shots of mountain ranges goes we don’t have much by way of explanation. But when photography is properly mastered it can provide awe-inspiring shocks to our sense of scale, a bit like finding out that the number of grains of sand on the earth is a figure with 26 zeros – it can alter your point of view for days afterwards. It seems Jessica Tremp is an advocate of pulling the carpet out from under your feet with her breathtaking landscapes, too; her shots demonstrate exactly the kind of “corrrr, that’s a big ol’ mountain, isn’t it?” joy that we find ourselves subconsciously seeking.
