Joan Cornellà is back with more gruesome hilarity in comic strip form

Date
27 November 2014

Joan Cornellà is nothing short of a master of his form. He’s got the gruesome comic strip down to a fine art, creating complex and hilarious narratives and then expressing them in no more than six bright panels, from one man with a poo on his head googling “who loves me?” and being given the answer “nobody,” to another man riding a bicycle made out of a suffering friend.

Even better, he produces them at a rate so speedy that we have to wonder if he spends his entire life wandering round in a haze, as he pictures humanity perpetually crumbling before his eyes, drawing it immediately afterwards. This new bunch of work has taken a turn for the meta, with characters turning out to be puppets or extensions of other characters, or both, respectively. They’re vile, and absolutely genius. You can thank us later.
