If you’re not sure how or why you have walked out of a bookshop holding a book in a bag, then this is what has probably happened. You were in the shop, wondering if it would be quicker to do this on Amazon, then you see something colourful in the near distance. It’s a book. Which book? Doesn’t matter, it’s designed by Jon Gray (or ‘Gray318’ if you’re partial to a pseudonym.) You pick up the book, briefly realise how boring all the other books in the bookshop are, then your body and your brain take you to the counter and you buy it. Why? Because Gray’s bright, crowded, hand-rendered book covers consistently promise a thrilling read.
