Illustration: Former Student of the Month Katie Scott has some incredible new work on show

Date

Way back in April 2011 we found Katie Scott’s work in a pile of emails and our minds were blown. The third-year Brighton illustration student was crafting some of the most intricate and beautiful imagery we’d seen in a long time, inspired by Japanese medical illustration, alchemical drawings and the elaborate biological paintings of Ernst Haeckel.

Three years on she’s got an impressive roster of clients under her belt, including The New York Times, Bombay Bicycle Club, Urban Outifitters and, perhaps most fittingly, the Norwegian Medical Association, for whom she’s designed some incredibly forward-thinking journal covers. Nowadays her work is showing even more professional polish, rounded off nicely with a shiny new website to showcase her talents. Lovely stuff.
