Klaus Pichler: Skeletons in the closet

Date
2 December 2011

I’m so envious of Klaus Pichler. Not only does he possess an excellent eye for capturing witty/poetic moments in everyday life, BUT for three years he was granted access behind the scenes of Vienna’s Museum of Natural History to explore its vast (taxidermied) bounty. The results are a highly staged series of images (reflecting the animals personalities) in a variety of spaces the public never get to see. It feels like the animals will come to life at any moment…

It’s also worth having a gander at Klaus Pichler’s middle class utopia series for some excellent images of sexagenarians in suburban bliss.
