Playfully nude characters in Laura Berger’s charming illustrations

Date

Based in Chicago, illustrator Laura Berger primarily works in gouache and acrylic but it’s her more polished gifs that have charmed us. Set against sparse backgrounds, the illustrator’s nude and sausage-like characters dance around the blank space with an air of cheekiness about them. In some images they wiggle their bottoms and tweak their nipples and in others they playfully interact with more peachy figures.

“My work is focused on exploring our connections to ourselves and each other and the idea of finding novelty and adventure in everyday life,” says Laura. This uninhibited approach to her work allows Laura to embrace the lighthearted with ease. The careful attention she’s paid to movement takes her simply formed characters beyond their static blobby forms.
