Publication: Little White Lies goes all Woody Allen in its excellent latest issue

You might have heard the rumours but unless you live next door to them, you might not know that The Church Of London, the guys responsible for _Huck _ and Little White Lies have undergone something of a reshuffle of late with a gang of them heading off to from a new creative studio, Human After All, and the rest staying behind to focus more completely on the publishing side of things. This means a new creative steer for Little White Lies, which for long term fans might be a little bit of a concern.

Don’t worry though, all’s good over at LWL HQ and Issue 49 looks as good as you’ve come to expect; that always-engaging cover illustration firmly in place, this time bearing the striking (beautifully illustrated) visage of Cate Blanchett. Inside it’s all about Woody Allen, with a range of features exploring the director’s relationship with women (on screen) over the years and some of his less successful movies. Elsewhere there’s a fantastic interview with Dan Perry, a man responsible for the title cards of films like Wall Street, Raging Bull, Blood Simple and The Exorcist and the usual tranche of interviews and reviews.

Design-wise it feels like this issue has been pared back a little with more of a recognisable magazine structure in amongst all the illustration. For my money this might be a good thing as I can navigate this badboy with ease, and there’s still enough eye candy on display to keep my visual hunger sated. With all fears of a massive change in direction allayed, I’m looking forward to seeing what the new team will come up with next. Good luck folks!
