Maggie's Centre Nottingham

Date
3 November 2011

Maggie’s is a private medical trust offering palliative care to cancer patients throughout the UK. Founded by the late Maggie Keswick Jencks in 1995 the trust is built on the premise that patients are better able to deal with their illness by becoming active participants in their own rehabilitation, not simply treated as victims. Yesterday saw the opening of the latest Maggie’s Centre in Nottingham, designed by architect Piers Gough and Sir Paul Smith, offering a beautifully idyllic and welcoming setting for patients to engage with their treatments – the antithesis to so many clinical healthcare environments.
