Marion Lefebvre: Nous Autres

Date
4 January 2012

French photographer Marion Lefebvre recently got in touch to give us a heads-up about her new project and while checking out her website I came across this extraordinary series called Nous Autres. She describes the portraits as studies of “a life frozen in time,” drawing parallels between the role of the photographer and the taxidermist – and you can see why. The pictures are both powerful and unsettling, and packed with narrative, or rather many possible narratives that compete for attention. Beautiful work and an eclectic portfolio that wrongfoots your expectations at almost every turn.
