Mark Draisey shows us inside the most expensive schools in the country

Apologies in advance if these images churn up a barrel-load of public schoolboy anger from the pit of your gut. Personally, I happen to love looking at these images and imagining I’m a 12-year-old boy, munching on an apple in prep, casually reading the The Financial Times and looking forward to playing rugby.

Bath-based photographer Mark Daisey spent a long time in some of the most famous boys’ boarding schools in the country, documenting what goes on inside these walls. The results are unscathing, and show a lot of sweet, red-cheeked boys who will, statistically, grow up to be rather important men. No matter what kind of school you went to, the magic thing about these pubescent shots is that they remind you of the scrum of school, of smoking behind sheds, the smell of a lunch hall and the sheer boredom of maths.
