Vibrant and playful design from Amsterdam-based Marta Veludo

Date

Marta Veludo’s design work is bright, fun and happy. Just one look at her website and it’s like walking into a toyshop of vibrant projects that beg to be picked up and played with. Inspired by pop culture, folk art, pound shops and Tumblr, it’s this abundance of references that make the Amsterdam-based designer’s work so interesting.

Marta’s client list is impressive having created work for Adidas, Reebok, Vice, Rituals and others, but it’s the identities and posters she’s created for Art Walk Mexico and an art market for The Bookstore Foundation that really jump out. Throughout both identities vibrant pastels and simple, abstract shapes are used to decorate and frame the information on the posters or flyers. I love how lively Marta’s work is, as my eyes dance across the page like they’re playing hopscotch. It beautifully emulates the events the posters are made for, which involve people exploring the city looking at art and discovering spaces.
