To survive nowadays, it is not enough to be only one thing – young designers must be hybrid creatives, as happy wielding a camera as they are a pen. No need to tell that to polymaths Theo Simpson and Ben Mclaughlin, who last year formed Mass Observation, an agency that seamlessly combines numerous creative outputs to create work on the fascinating border between art and design. Oh, and they self-publish investigative books too – yikes!
